Candidate Advancement Program (CAP)

The Candidate Advancement Program (CAP) has the following purpose:

• To assist the candidate in attaining a satisfactory level of  physical fitness.
• To assist the candidate in achieving a passing score on the Physical Abilities Test
• To assist the candidate in preparing for the physical portion of the Police Academy training
• To familiarize the candidate with the quasi-military protocol and  self-discipline expected of a recruit officer in the Police Academy.

All participants candidates must be in the police office selection  process for the City of Los Angeles. Those eligible to participate in this program are required to successfully pass the written portion of the examination.
